Windows Viewer Advisory!
Windows Media Player tends to reassign to itself the control over .mov and .qt media types. Unfortunately with Windows Media Player setup as the default application 'handler' for these file types, you may not be able to view the wide variety of QuickTime media available here and at other sites.

We offer the following to consider:

1) If you were to do a custom install of Windows Media Player, you will be offered a choice as to whether or not to assign .qt and .mov file types to be handled by Windows Media Player. Decline the option and let QuickTime handle its own native file formats. Otherwise, Windows Media Player cannot handle the panoramas found on this web site and you will experience unsatisfactory results.

2) If you experience problems because Windows Media Player has taken over the QuickTime assignments, you can get Quicktime 4.1 to re-assign to itself those file formats that are native to it. Screen shots below describe what can be done:

QuickTime 4.1 has added a Browser Plugin selection to the
QuickTime Settings control panel.

Run the QuickTime Settings
control panel, choose Browser Plugin, click MIME settings,
and click the checkbox for video/x-quicktime or video/quicktime.
This fixes the problems you may experience.

ALSO:
If you see a black box or a broken plugin icon
instead of a virtual reality panorama, you need
QuickTime 4.1 -- www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

It's free!

If you already have QuickTime 4.1, you need to open
the QuickTime Settings control panel, choose Browser Plugin,
click MIME settings, and click the checkbox for
video/x-quicktime or video/quicktime.
