Switch Leap To Gainer Back Layout

A switch leap to a gainer back layout is a gymnastic/acrobatic series consisting of a gymnastic element (switch leap) and an acrobatic element (gainer), both of C level difficulty. The combination of the two elements is evaluated as a series of D level difficulty. One gymnastic/acrobatic series must be included in all compulsory and optional routines. Judges look to see that the series is performed with virtuosity and grace, that the split leap is performed with legs straight and parallel to the beam, that the gainer is performed with a properly arched back and rigid legs, and that both elements in the series are steady and executed with great amplitude.

Vanessa's gymnastic/acrobatic series is excellent. Not only are her elements solid and her landings stuck, but she also executes them with good artistry and form.
